• Individualized nutrition therapy using the principles of Intuitive Eating to help heal your relationship with food and rebuild trust in your own ability to eat all foods without feelings of guilt and shame.

• Creating more structure with meal planning, when it is needed and warranted for recovery, and does not serve the eating disorder.

• Addressing emotional anxieties and stress related to meal times and weight gain.
  

• Creating a focused treatment plan and working on building upon clients' own motivation to recover.

• Identifying nutrient deficiencies and helping to restore health to allow full physical recovery from eating disordered behaviors such as restricting, starvation, overeating, binge-eating, and purging.

I also work with families and help guide parents on how to support and help their child in the recovery from eating disorders.

I am in close contact with, and work directly in, a multidisciplinary treatment team with psychologist Wendy Hoyt, Ph.D., licensed social workers, psychiatrists, medical doctors, and other health care professionals in the community.

Sports Nutrition:
 
For over a decade, I have been involved in nutrition counseling and identifying and working with the special nutritional needs related to recreational and professional athletes.  I have a deep passion for nutrition. I have always been fascinated by how you can improve your performance and increase your endurance by what, when, how much, and even how you eat and drink. I have been able to apply these principles in my own training as well as help many other athletes improve their performance over the past decade.
 
I offer extensive experience in the following:  

• assessment of athletes for disordered eating patterns and address concerns related to performance, weight management and treatment of eating disorders.  

• Formulating a specific individualized eating strategy to help improve performance in training and competition, and recovery.

• Identifying nutritional deficiencies and how to specifically address and correct them to help improve your general health, well-being and performance.

• Communicating and working directly with athletes, coaches, and other team support staff.

• Staying current with published research on current nutrition practices in sports nutrition. In addition, I have extensive experience in physical testing assessment.

• Personal experience and understanding of the lifestyle and other factors related to the competitive elite athlete.
